Are Composite Hockey Sticks Good Buys?
Why are more people these days more inclined to buying composite hockey sticks instead of the traditional wooden ones? The use of this kind of a hockey stick has seen an increase in professional play the past few years as compared to the use of wooden hockey sticks and there are a number of reasons for this. For one, some players feel that they can shoot the puck faster with the use of this kind of a hockey stick than with a wooden stick while others say that the lighter weight of these composite sticks make them easier to handle and use.
Essentially, the choice of the hockey stick that is to be used is left to the choice of the hockey player himself and how he plays is often dependent on how comfortable he is in using the hockey stick he has, regardless of it being wood or composite. There are some who point out however that their games have improved with the use of composite sticks and whether or not it is because of the lighter weight of these sticks or because of their construction is debatable.
These sticks are oftentimes made with materials like carbon, graphite, Kevlar and titanium. You can find that some of these are made with only one of these said materials or they can be made with a combination of any of these. You should be aware that the lighter and stronger the materials that are being used for your composite hockey sticks, the more expensive they are going to be. There are two distinct type of composite sticks and these are the one piece sticks that are molded in one piece and the two piece that is made of two parts molded separately then can be purchased as individual pieces you use to create your own personal composite stick.
