Different Considerations For Choosing Roller Hockey Sticks

When you are planning on indulging in the sport called roller hockey, one of the equipment you will need is a hockey stick that is specially made for the sport. When choosing your stick from the many roller hockey sticks available to you in the market, here are some of the things you should consider when choosing your hockey stick:

-    Handedness – this consideration is for whether you are right handed or left handed however you may want to try out the stick you are going to buy regardless of whether it is left or right handed. There are also sticks that are considered neutral and these can be used by most anyone.
-    Lie – this is the angle that the stick has with its blade. The higher the lie, the more upright the stick is when handled. You will need to test the sticks you find to figure out which lie suits you best. When combined with the stick’s handedness, you may easily find sticks with labels that say 7R or 5L.
-    Length – the length of your stick can also affect your performance if you are not comfortable with it. You should have a stick that you can comfortably use, regardless of whether it reaches your chin while you are in your inline skates or if it just reaches your armpit level.
-    Curvature – the curve of the blade often dictates how you play since there are pros and cons to having a more curved blade. With a blade that has a rather pronounced curve, you will find that puck flipping is easier and can help you with better shooting needs. This however gives you roller hockey sticks that are difficult to use when receiving or passing. You may want to get yourself a balanced stick that has a gentle curve to allow you to do both effectively enough without compromising too much on the other.
